Guided tour of the Warring States Period Jokamachi (castle town area), the Great Buddha of Gifu and the ruins of Nobunaga's residence.

Dosan, who restored Inabayama Castle (currently Gifu Castle) around 1535, built a sogamae (a surrounding defense line with a moat and entrenchments) outside the castle town. During this time, he also carried out full-scale development of the town by building streets and attracting visitors.

The castle town called Inokuchi is the origin of present-day Gifu.

Oda Nobunaga brought major development to the town of Gifu after Dosan.

On this tour, visitors will walk through the castle town and experience the remnants of the old moat and roads, and see one of the largest Buddha statues in Japan, the Great Buddha of Shoboji Temple.
